For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve...

Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministry offers a proven and effective way to help people struggling with life’s difficulties like grief, depression, loneliness and more by providing high-quality, one-to-one, Christ-centered care for those who are part of the congregation and occasionally for those in the greater community. Potential care receivers first meet with a pastor or Stephen Leader, who assesses their needs for care and matches them with a Stephen Minister. The caring relationship lasts for as long as the need persists.
“Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” (Galatians 6:2, NRSV)

Care Events
At the heart of these free workshops is a desire to provide participants care, coupled with tools and insights on how to navigate a variety of issues in life, like relational challenges, mental health, financial issues, emotional well being. These events happen three times a year (February, April & November).
Meal Ministry
The purpose is simply to help an individual or family in need by providing a ready-made meal. In times of need, it is an incredible blessing to see a friendly face and receive a freshly prepared meal. Organized meal giving focuses on assisting people around significant life events.
“The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food in due season. You open your hand; you satisfy the desire of every living thing.” (Psalm 145:15,16)

Downtown Kitchener Outreach
We Love Our Neighbours!
We believe the Church was always meant to be a church in the community. So that means we move toward heartache and brokenness, not away from it. We slow down, see the people in our communities, and serve them! We seek to see God’s Kingdom come; His will be done in Waterloo Region as it is in heaven.
In partnership with Calvary United in St. Jacobs, together we serve the homeless population downtown by providing meals, conversation, relational support and connecting people to services and resources as needed.
“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’” (Matthew 25:35-40)
